Advantco AS2 Adapter for SAP NetWeaver Drummond Certified™ in AS2 Interoperability Test Event
AUSTIN, TX—June 12, 2012—Drummond Group Inc., the trusted leader in interoperability software testing, today announced the completion of its AS2-1Q12 automated interoperability test event in which 19 products are now Drummond Certified™. Participating companies from around the globe included Advantco International LLC, Axway, CLEO, Dell Boomi, EXTOL International Inc., GXS, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, KTNET, Liaison Technologies, Microsoft Corporation, software, SEEBURGER AG and TIBCO Software Inc.
In addition, the new SHA-2 (Secure Hashing Algorithm) Optional Test Profile was introduced in this test event. AS2 Optional Test Profiles build upon the AS2 standard by request from industries that have additional requirements beyond what is specified in the standard. SHA-2 is being utilized by U.S. federal agencies, U.S. and European energy industry and the DEA's Controlled Substances Ordering Systems (CSOS). Axway, CLEO, Hewlett-Packard Company, /n software and SEEBURGER AG tested the SHA-2 Optional Test Profile in AS2-1Q12
"SHA-1 is the default in AS2 and is widely used and accepted. AS2 products that add SHA-2 deliver on the emerging requirement in some industries for signing messages using SHA-2," says Rik Drummond, CEO of Drummond Group. "An additional benefit of Optional Test Profiles is that it allows software vendors to optionally incorporate the new functionality into their products as their release schedule permits."
Drummond Group's testing automation tool, InSitu®, also was utilized during this AS2 interoperability test round, including being enhanced to facilitate SHA-2 testing. The InSitu® technology allows the tester to automate the execution and evaluation of the test cases used for interoperability testing, including sending and receiving AS2 messaging. This provides testers with more time to focus on solving any interoperability issues.

AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) is one of the most widely recognized messaging standards for B2B e-commerce with thousands of implementations aroun2d the globe. It enables users to connect, deliver and reply to all forms of data (including EDI and XML) securely and reliably, thereby delivering cost savings and providing flexibility and control on how the data is utilized. The Drummond Certified™ program provides numerous industries with a wide selection of software tested for compliance and interoperability that offers leading product features in a variety of prices.
Optional Test Profiles
AS2 Optional Test Profiles build upon an existing technical standard because certain industries have additional requirements they need added to the AS2 standard and, therefore, to the AS2 Interoperability Test. The AS2 Optional Test Profiles are being added in stages to the AS2 standard or listed as "Informational Status" to the standard within IETF. Participation in these test profiles is optional. Making the Industry Test Profiles optional maintains the integrity of the existing standard while providing interested software companies, who sell into the respective vertical, the opportunity to certify their capabilities. Those software companies who do not sell into the vertical can opt out. The end result is a group of software products certified for compliance and interoperability of the AS2 standard as well as a sub-set of software products also certified for the Optional AS2 Test Profile(s).
SHA-2
The SHA-2 (Secure Hashing Algorithm) optional profile was experimentally introduced in Drummond Group's AS2-3Q11 test event with AS2 vendors participating in initial SHA-2 implementation discussions and experimental testing. The SHA-2 optional profile included testing SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 cryptographic hash functions.
